Written in close collaboration with Séverine Ballon in spring of 2013, Stircrazer II is the second in a group of three pieces for solo performer with live mechanics. While each embodies distinct terrain they share a common preoccupation with frictions and surface tensions, fragility and blunt mechanisms. The project stemmed initially out of an improvised set for solo performer, developed for a show at Chicago’s Heaven Gallery. My deepest gratitude to Séverine for her magic as a performer and for her many creative contributions to the development of this piece.
